Vineyards

If the wine itself is an object of art, a vineyard is definitely the first step on this path.

Each vineyard is a story for itself; to produce good wine, one has to come to know it well and take good care of it.

FAMILY-OWNED

Each vineyard is a story for itself

We cultivate a small area (3,5 ha) of family-owned vineyards. The vineyards are a component part of the dynamic landscape and they are located in different plots around the village. In 2005 we started a systematic renovation (vine training system: single Guyot), so today our vineyards are planted with white varieties such as Pinot blanc, Zelen, Istrian Malvasia, Italian riesling - Welschriesling and red varieties, Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon and Pinot noir.

The level of mechanization is low – the majority of work in the vineyards is done manually as it has been in the past.

Vineyards:

  • - Podosredek (Pinot blanc)
  • - Podzamalen (Merlot)
  • - Breg (Pinot noir, Zelen, Malvasia)
  • - Njiva (Welschriesling)

My first wineyard

Pinot Noir

This is my first wineyard, which I replanted between my college time in year 2008. I planted this wineyard on the plateau called Breg. Before my Pinot noir this was home of father's Merlot, I decided to replanted this because the vineyard was old and a lot of plants were missing. I decided for Pinot noir because of his magic character and because is one of the most difficult grapes to grow.
